| James' grandfather, John Moyle, was born in Cornwall 22 February 1808. He was stonemason. He was also a strong anti-union man, the only one of 325 other masons in Salt Lake City. The union gave him an ultimatum: Join, or be struck against. They were picking on the wrong man. He told them to choose any numbers of men and he would fight them. If he lost, he would join the union. There was no fight, and his membership was not persued again. |
